Long Overdue Post!!!! Read Please…Haha…

Hey Folks…..

My goodness, half a year has gone since my last update..I’m terribly sorry, though come to think of it who would read this boring blog of mine.

As you know, I started my career in the engineering sector exactly 1 year ago this day!!, time really flies, and it seems as though I just started yesterday. The career path has not been smooth sailing I must admit, but I do cherish the challenges and opportunity to fly as career man instead of my wanderlust travelling flights. Nonetheless, I am at a crossroad, and honestly am not exactly sure what path it’s going to lead to.

Anyway, my hobby has also taken a back seat these past few months and the Nikon has been sitting idle in the dry cab itching to crawl out and enjoy the golden hours of the skies or smell of sea salt in the beaches. Call it complacent or just plain laziness, I am getting rusty and this has to stop definitely. Partially, its due to my work hours which kinda prohibit me to enjoy that magical hours and also because I’m trying to chase something else to keep my life more complete at work and fulfill my target of getting the one soon 🙂 .

Coming back to topic, I  have to sincerely apologetically raise my arms in somber mood as I promised an update but didn’t do it. Well, I hope these series of pictures taken in the past 6 months make up for the lost posts. Most are backlogged and still unedited, and I’m trying to find the time to catch up on these soon.

A brief chronological order of events that transpired these few month. Early of this year nothing special happened, but I was stoked as one of my very close cousin, finally got hitched to her beau. It was a magical wedding and I congratulate her and wish her years of blissful marriage and children. And I also finally visited the land of giant scrappers and desert in the Arabian peninsula. I was stoked to see that World’s tallest sky scrapper and as a landscape photographer it was just mesmerising. Words can’t describe the scene I saw and I’ll let my photos do the talking.

End of the Road

A section of the ECP/AYE now going to be forever remove from history. This stretch is quite a scenic route as it transits from the east into the financial district. Roads come and go but photos will forever be there.

[ Fading ]

The Fading light, bright, glowing, distant and diminishing, running away from us… to re appear the in our lives the next day.

Congrats to Both… May they be showered with a long lasting marriage and happiness.

[ Burn Rubber, Not Your Soul]

C’est Moi…

[Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque]  – Abu Dhabi, UAE -This grand mosque is a sight to behold. A magnificent piece of muslim architecture which is inspired by the Mughal Taj Mahal added with Arabian essence. One simply has to walk the halls and stand near its minaret to truly embrace the beauty of this working mosque and what it stands for, God/Allah. Abit of uneven polarization in this picture due to polariser effect. But nonetheless, I’m pleased with the blueness of the sky. Abit rusty in my post technique finally get to practice on this piece after months of inactivity/hiatus. Stay tune for more Arab epicness.

[Emerald Al-Arab] -Burj Al-Arab Hotel – The world or Dubai’s eminent 7*star hotel. When I first wanted to visit Dubai, this was one of the first images, I envisage and had to get a shot of. Truly a mesmerising place with the architecture of the old souks in the background and the grandiouse Burj Al-Arab in the back. Had to do alot of recovery and colour correction with this one, As the place I shot this did not allow tripod, so had to stand still and place my cam on an unsteady ledge. Still trying out this new post technique, do comment if you have any.

[Al-Souk] – One of the nice architecture reminiscing of the old Dubai architecture. These souks were redesign and built to mimic the old design but in a new modern environment, called a Mall. LoL wonders of modernisation, everything is either a shopping mall, food court or skyscraper.

[The Burj Khalifa] – Sheik Zayed Road A majestic view of the Burj Khalifa/Dubai in the blue hour. This view has got to be personally viewed to really comprehend just how tall the Burj is. With the busy, SHeik Zayan highway intersection below, just a nice juxtapose to the tall Khalifa.

Ok Folks, this is only Part 1 of the updates… Will break this into another post, which I’ll post definitely soon…. Remember to visit my page and give it a like will ya…

The Best of 2013

Hi Folks,

Wow!!! Today, is the last day of 2013! and here I am finalllyyyy updating this post!
I am somewhat apologetic for neglecting to update this space. But there is a salient reason for this,
as beginning of July this year, I was pre-occupied with work. Yes, I am a tax-contributing law abiding citizen
who now holds the responsibility to support and grow the economy. Sucks no doubt, but this life needs money to live.

Looking back at 2013, I would say many interesting things has happened, be it the fun and best moments right up to the
forgetful and embarrassing moments.(More of those stories in a later post). In terms of Photography, I would say the first half
of the year was very exciting and eventful and the second half, has make me a more responsible person.

Compared to 2012, I was only actively shooting in the first half of 2013. Thus, this year, I wasn’t able to capture alot of the
epic photos, sunrise and sunsets that I used to.

So, I hope you enjoy my compilation of the best shots that I’ve taken in 2013.!!

Hey Folks,

A very late post for March and I missed a posting for the month of February. Well, I guess it goes as it goes.

January’s Post

Hey Folks,
First post of 2013!!!I feel guilty for neglecting this blog for so long. It was almost a month ago since I wrote a new post. I really have to get things sorted out and continue to doing some blog updates. Nonetheless, January has been a wonderful and as always a great month to the new year because its also the month in which I was born.

Well, this year Thaipusam or Ponggal came earlier than other years, and it felt on 27th January 2013. As always, me and bunch of my photo kakis (“enthusiast”), went on a night shoot at Little India’s, Sri Perumal Temple near Farrer Park Mrt Station. Last year, I shot the ending of procession at Clemenceau. This year, I began at the start. Ponggal is quite a unique and colorful affair. There were devotion, color, gore, trance, smoke, chanting and many more that one has to personally feel himself to actually get the ambience and atmosphere of Ponggal.

Below is a series of my shots taken at this year Ponggal, enjoy.

My 2012 – Trips to exotic Indonesia

Hi Folks,

I am sitting down on my chair, staring the the computer monitor and writing this post on the very last day of the year. The purpose of this post is to reflect on  my journey throughout 2012 and as such a series of such posts will be up.

2012, has been a mixed year for me in particular. But certainly there were more ups than downs, even with the Mayan doomsday prediction on the horizon. In the photographic journey, I think I have leap and bound in terms of skills and editing.

I’ve also met many new Photo Kakis along the way, particularly after joining LHA, Landscape Hunters Asia in the Facebook group. I sincerely treasure and appreciate the ample of opportunities given by them for accessing the private and nice locations around town in Singapore. On top of that, I also had the pleasure of meeting and hosting, renown photographers like Elia Locardi of and Julien of Beboy Microstock Photography. Truly, blessed that Photography has brought me to a new level and met new friends throughout the world.

The year has also been a memorable one particularly as I’ve graduated and in the midst of a career path and so I began photography packing trip to Indonesia somewhere in July, after my convocation. This post is a showcase of the images I took whilst on that journey. I encourage anyone to try and visit this large chain of island archipelago Indonesia, the landscape is truly magnificent, the culture is alive and vibrant and the people are warm and cheerful.

Enjoy these sets of images, lookout for more of my 2012 in review posts.

The Mountain Sunrise at Mount Batur

Mt Batur, Bali

Hey folks, I’m back for a one day stop before leaving on another trekking adventure.. Just had to upload this one first before I leave… My virgin mountain sunrise, was extremely lucky, cos right after this image, the mist and clouds came rushing in blocking the nice view.. The volcano you see in this picture is not Mt Batur, but Mt Agung.
